Dear Students,

Please read the following rules carefully regarding the BUEPT/BÜYES and TWE examinations to be held on 7 September 2026.

To ensure the security of the Boğaziçi University English Proficiency Examination (BÜYES/BUEPT and TWE), candidates may bring only the following items to the examination:

• Two forms of identification (Turkish national ID card, passport, Boğaziçi University student ID card, or driver’s licence). External candidates may take the examination with one form of identification.
• Boğaziçi University students admitted in 2026 may take the examination with one form of identification.
• A public transport card without a case
• Coins or banknotes
• Water in a bottle with the label removed
• Keys without a key ring or keychain
• Candidates who are not Boğaziçi University students may bring one credit card if they wish to use the food and beverage stands located inside the building. The credit card must be brought without a wallet or cardholder.

The following items are prohibited in the examination rooms:

• Pens, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, or any other stationery items (The necessary pencils will be provided by the invigilators.)
• Mobile phones or any other communication devices
• Computers or handheld computers
• Wristwatches, pocket watches, or smartwatches
• Bags
• Wallets
• Please note that there are no lockers in our buildings.
• Candidates found to have brought one or more of these items into the examination room will have their examinations invalidated. Please also note that bringing prohibited items may result in disciplinary action. Candidates who register for the examination are deemed to have accepted these rules.
• During the break before the Writing section, students and external candidates will not be permitted to leave the building. Candidates who leave the building will not be readmitted to take the Writing section.

Examination Room List

The examination room list has been published as an Excel workbook consisting of seven worksheets. You must find your name on the relevant worksheet according to the section or sections you will take (e.g. LRW or LW).

Since the June 2026 BUEPT, the following numerical codes have been used instead of letter codes such as L, LR, and LW for candidates taking individual sections of the examination:

• LR: 3001
• LW: 4001
• RW: 5001
• L: 6001
• R: 7001
• W: 8001

BÜYES/BUEPT Examination Venues and Times

Candidates must be present in front of the examination building at the specified ID-check time, with their identification documents ready.

Your examination number is provided in the examination list. Candidates who registered using their Turkish national ID number or passport number must check the last five digits of their Turkish national ID or passport number to find their entry in the list.

Candidates who transferred to the University in 2025 through central placement score-based transfer, whether internally or from another institution, are listed under their Boğaziçi University student numbers beginning with 2025. These candidates must check the list using their student numbers.
